How does a person get MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) to run?

I have been trying to download and play Famicom’s Vs. The Goonies, but I can’t seem to get MAME (the only emulator that seems to be able to run it) to work. What can I do, or is there another another way to play the game?

Hummm thats a straight forward game.

You have downloaded MAME (version don’t really matter due to the rom is available from Ver .37 to current)

You downloaded the Vs. The Goonies rom (goonies.zip 34.4kb)

You should then just place the rom in the roms folder in the MAME directory. (MAME/ROMS/GOONIES.ZIP)

Start mame double click the game in mames screen and it will/should load.
