Help with connecting XBOX 360 to internet!?
I am having some difficulty with my hooking my XBOX 360 to the internet and I admit I don’t know much about XBOX 360. My friend gave me his xbox 360 (not the arcade version but not the elite version, either) but I don’t have anything to connect to the internet with. Do I need a certain ethernet cable or an official xbox one? Or how about a wireless connection? (that’s how i’m currently on the internet)
And what other steps do I need to take?

* You can use any regular Ethernet Cable
* Xbox 360 also works with wireless internet
If you’re using a wired connection, plug the ethernet cable into the back of your Xbox 360 and the other end into your router, it should connect to xbox live immediately.
If you’re using a wireless home network and the Xbox is far away from the the computer/modem/router/etc…then you will need an internet adapter to plug into the back of your Xbox 360. I DO NOT recommend the $99 Xbox 360 internet adapter because its overpriced, it’s not fast and the antenna range isn’t very far.
To connect wirelessly, you can get a dualband internet adapter that runs on G and N connections and is much smoother, more stable and has less signal loss than the crappy Microsoft one. Linksys and Netgear both make gaming adapters that are better than Microsoft’s.
OR….You can get a internet adapter tha plugs into a regular wall outlet. Plug in the reciever into any wall outlet, connect your ethernet cable into it and plug the other reciever into a wall outlet near your computer, connect your modem to it and you’ll get Xbox Live no matter where in the house your Xbox is.
It’s not as complicated as it might sound. It’s actually very easy to set up.
